Research Institute of Humanities

This Institute was established in September 1997 with the goal of promoting research in the fields of the Humanities. With this goal in mind, the institute publishes books, holds national and international seminars and conferences to promote academic exchanges with other institutes at home and abroad in addition to arranging various other projects relating to its professed goals.

Research Institute of Social Science

This Institute aims to contribute to the promotion of social science through the study of various theories and practices within that field, additionally, to the development of the regional community by improving cooperative ties between the university and local communities in such areas as economy, technology, industry, employment, income, environment and social welfare.

Research Institute of Business & Economics

This Institute was established in 1975 for the purpose of research on economic and corporate activities by holding various seminars and issuing annual reports, thereby contributing to the economic development within Korea.

Research Institute of Industrial Technology Development

The Laboratory, established in March, 1982, secured a number of capable professors and research members in all areas of engineering. Well-equipped with sophisticated equipment and the facilities needed for R&D of hi-tech applications, the Laboratory executes research on industrial science and engineering technology which form the vase of our economic development. It also trains and cultivates skilled technicians to contribute to the development of national science and industry while promoting international understanding through active research activities and experiments.

Research Institute of Educational Science

This Institute was established in 1997 for the purpose of research and the development of curricula. In addition to the on-going education of teachers through various seminars and the annual issue of reports and papers, thereby contributing to the development of the nation’s education.

Research Institute of Artistic Design

This institute was established in 1997 with a view towards activating research on artistic theories as well as the creation of works in the fields of art and design in general. In particular, the institute aims to contribute to the development of art and design in the Yongdong area. Those working within the institute publish a collection of papers, while at the same time, arrange various seminars and exhibitions.

Research Institute of Tourism

This institute, established in 1975, has studied academic research for tourism and various problems during sightseeing, based on the research and analysis of tourism for 30 years. Also, it aims to participate in the research of regional tour resources and a development project, to set up the cooperative ties between companies and universities, tour industry cluster and regional tour innovation system, to perform commissioned research with related agencies, and to contribute to academic research.

Research Institute of Sports and Leisure Culture

This institute was established in March 2003 with the aims to contribute to the promotion of research competency of the sports leisure culture, to the improvement of health and physical fitness level of peoples, and to the development of the sports leisure culture of regional community through the study of various theories and practices in the sports and leisure field. With these goals and intentions in mind, the institute publishes books, holds national seminars and conferences to promote academic exchanges with other institute at home and abroad and arranges various other projects relating to its professed goals.

Research Institute of Biomedical Science

Our institute performs the basic and the clinical researches required for the progression of medical sciences and technologies. The institute also performs the researches related to biotechnology medical engineering and the subjects related to biotechnology medical engineering, and the subjects oriented in the interest of medical industries. The institute has six subdivisions and the professors in departments of Medicine and Nursing are involved in several research activities. In addition, seminars are held and a research journal is published.

Research Institute of Yongdong culture

This Institute, established on April 1, 1976, carries out a wide range of research projects in the fields of politics, economy, society and culture in the Yongdong area. The institute issues various materials and reports on the traditional culture of the area, while conducting investigations on its cultural assets and holding exhibitions.

Deawon Environment Research Center

This Center was established to meet the rising demands of research on local areas, to develop new businesses, and to host large-scale projects. It also aims to promote basic and applied research on environmental protection and to contribute to the preservation of a clean environment.

Research Center of Traffic SOC

This center, established on March 1, 1999, investigates and analyzes the overall traffic Social Overhead Capital, such as roads, railroads, airports and ports, while providing technical advice and suggestions to related agencies, and carrying out various projects commissioned by public or private organizations in accordance with the cooperative relationships existing between University and Industry. In addition, the Center attempts to turn out skilled technicians who can suggest ways of solving traffic problems through the collection and analysis of various data and statistics as well as carrying out planned investigations and research, thus offering realistic alternatives to existing situations.

Research Center of Student Life

This Center helps students solve various problems they face, allowing them to lead a sound campus life, as well as adapting themselves to social activities by collecting and analyzing all the issues around them. It also tries to suggest a model for and ideal campus life.

Research Center of Electronic and Telecommunication

This Center was established to develop electronic and telecommunications-related technology and enhance academic research on the related theories and their applications, while contributing to the nation's industrial development by further consolidating cooperative ties between the University and Industry.
