Computer Engineering major

Introduction

Computer Science and Engineering, as a basis of modern science, serves as a basic study in all the computer-related industry. We can no longer imagine our lives without the existence of computers, which afford us close correlation with modern society. The department has both master's and doctoral programs offering the following majors: Computer Structure, Compiler, Operating System, Database, Computer Graphics, Software Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence. Based on its undergraduate study, the department aims to cultivate experienced computer professionals able to contribute to the development of a modern society.

Educational Objective

With the professional experience and knowledge acquired through the undergraduate program, students are expected to work as computer professionals, qualified to contribute to the development in the Information Age. With the experience and knowledge gained through their 'industry-academic-research' collaboration, students are able to contribute to the development of both the regional and national computer science industries. They are also expected to conduct independent researches, as well as to cultivate knowledge and insights in the real workplace, which will result in the growth of the information society.

Educational Goals

* MA students are encouraged to either give a presentation at an academic seminar or have at least one paper published in a national-level society.
* In keeping with the procedures to submit a thesis, PhD students are encouraged to have a minimum of 5 research papers published.
* The faculty encourages students to participate in a regional academic seminar at least once or twice during their semesters.
* To promote more 'industry-academy-research' collaboration.
* To assist all our graduates in landing competitive careers and make sure that no one 'gets left behind' in cultivating practical computer knowledge.
