Department of Geography Education

Introduction

Students first study courses in basic principles, prior to moving on to their courses in more complex applications. They are trained to cultivate an ability in analysis, critical thinking, logic, and speech. In addition, students will take part in formal academic field trips on a yearly basis. These field trips and researches cover all the regions throughout the country, including a field trip along the Silk Road. The materials and photos taken during their trips are intended to be updated in the Wed and used as learning materials.

Educational Objective

Through their study on the natural environment, land use and resources development, students are able to cultivate an analytical ability and understanding in a range of geographical phenomena. The geography-related researches available for the community should assist students in dealing with and understanding the correlations among the various phenomena. Through a range of field trips, students learn how to investigate various issues and conduct researches related to geography education. Students, as future geography education teachers in secondary schools, learn how to apply their knowledge and professional theory into practice at schools.
