Introduction

This department aims not only to formulate its academic program through the systemization of the overall principles of Tourism Science, but also to establish its practical academic system through the combination of theory and practice in Tourism which is considered to be an applied social science.

Educational Objective

The department aims to train future-oriented business managers, able to contribute to the growth of the local tourist industry and the national economy. With set goals to enhance the quality of education and further ensure the fairness of the grading system, the department encourages its faculty members to prepare thoroughly for their lectures, devise various effective teaching methods, and help promote practicality in their study. The department is designed to meet the specific needs of tourism specialists, who are asked to possess 'real work experience', based on the theory and practice in the course of Tourism. Through real work experiences in the tourism related industry and its continuous research activities, the department aims to promote the research skills required to meet the specific social demands found within the broad scope of the tourism industry.

Educational Goals

  1. To publish at least 1 academic paper in a business-related society and encourage more research in a national-level society.
  2. To promote its departmental academic seminar based on real work experiences and information acquired off-campus.
  3. To encourage students in attaining a variety of field experiences in the related industry .
  4. To train professional tourism specialists.
  5. To train doctoral-level specialists who can also perform educational training programs.
