The school, founded in 1955, boasts of its long history as one of the two, initial beginning academic units of our university. Now the school offers six majors including Business Administration, Tourism Management, International Trade, Public Administration, Police Administration, and Social Welfare. Based on the fundamental idea of democratic education and Catholic, it aims to produce individuals of high calibre in the fields of business and public administration, armed with profound knowledge and leadership, thereby contributing to the development of our society at large.

Business Management Major

Introduction

The department focuses on the decision-making rules and techniques required to establish appropriate business management policies on the theories and practice concerning the various scopes of corporate management environment. In addition, it aims to train tomorrow's professional managers through analyzing substantive management-related issues and offering customized education, in both theory and practice.

Educational Objective

The department puts its highest priority on training competent business managers who can contribute to national economy and quickly adapt to the fast-changing international management environments.

Educational Goals

  1. To publish at least 1 academic paper in a nation-wide business-related academic society.
  2. To establish a close network between university and industry in order to provide students with on-the-spot experience and offer businesses necessary information to solve their pending issues.
  3. To train CEOs and executives having both knowledge and real work experience.
  4. To offer students fundamental principles and knowledge for business activities.

International Trade Major

Introduction

Korea's economic system is heavily dependent on international trade. Given this fact, the Department of International Trade aims to cultivate specialists in the international trade and business management who are able to perform their economic and cultural roles in the field through its industry-academic cooperation and diversified educational curriculum.

Educational Objective

With its main emphasis on training professionals in the field and its doctrines of Catholic, the department studies various advanced forms of corporate internationalization, information technology on globalization and some case models on international integration. Furthermore, the department assists students' comprehension of the nature and cause of all issues in international trade practice, international economics and international business management

Educational Goals

    Under the founding spirit and its democratic objectives, the Department aims to train specialists in International Trade and Commerce through lectures, workshops and seminars.

Business Administration Major

Introduction

The Department of Business Administration studies theories and solutions for various social issues related to Personnel Management, Organization, Budget and Policy-Making, which are the core elements in dealing with administrative affairs of businesses. The course, aiming to cultivate students' ability to apply Administration theory to practice, analyzes specific cases found in Business Administration and further seeks applicative solutions and theoretical interpretations. It also aims to cultivate students' ability to carry out independent researches through encouraging them to participate in joint seminars and academic conferences.

Educational Objective

The course aims to enhance research in the field of Business Administration and to cultivate further understanding and skills required to solve a variety of administrative issues.

Educational Goals

The Department of Business Administration, with its ultimate goal to train today's most desirable business administrators, gives humanity 'top priority'. The traits required to be a global administrator include skills in strategic planning & management, information processing, rational problem-solving, and international affairs.

Police Administration

Introduction

With the establishment of master's and doctoral programs in 2002, the department helps understand the general concepts of policing from a rather broad perspective, based on the fundamental principles of police administration. To better respond to the needs of our modern society, the department takes further initiatives to train professionals in the field through rationalizing police operations.

Educational Objective

  1. To promote educational and research skills in line with the recent trend in the area of police administration.
  2. To help understand the complex police administration process through the study of related subjects.
  3. To promote 'science' in the policing activities by dealing with and successfully solving, practical issues.
  4. To assist students with their independent research activities through the 'faculty-student' academic cooperation.
  5. To create joint research projects between police and their related associations, to promote practicality of the research results.

Tourism Management Major

Introduction

The department aims not only to formulate its academic system through systemizing the overall principles of Tourism Science, but to establish its practical academic system through combining theory and practice in Tourism that is considered to be an applied social science.

Educational Objective

The department aims to train future-oriented tourism experts who will contribute to the growth of the local industry and the national economy. With its goals to enhance the quality of education and further ensure the fairness of the grading system, the department encourages its faculty members to prepare thoroughly for their lectures, devise various effective teaching methods, and help promote practicality in their study.

Educational Goals

  1. To publish at least 1 academic paper in a nation-wide business-related academic society.
  2. To actively arrange various academic seminars based on real work experiences and information acquired off-campus.
  3. To encourage students to acquire additional field experiences in the related industry
  4. To train professional tourism specialists.
  5. To train doctoral-level specialists who can also perform educational training programs.

Social Welfare Major

Introduction

This department aims to help create a welfare state that assures human dignity, freedom and equality. It also aims to train professional social welfare administrators who can effectively deal with various social issues and demands.

Educational Objective

Under the university's founding spirit, the department studies ideology, values, theory, knowledge and technologies in Social Welfare based on scientific research methods.

Educational Goals

Healthcare Management

Introduction

With the goal of training efficient and competent managers in healthcare management industry, the future-oriented department was established first in Gangwon Province in 2007. It is an exciting time for healthcare management. Healthcare is changing more rapidly than almost any other field. The department offers courses in basic medical science, healthcare information management (medical records management), hospital management and health insurance. The department is in connection with management information, medical science, nursing, hotel management and social welfare.

Educational Objective

The department aims to train healthcare professionals in hospitals, nursing homes, and medical industry, making a significant contribution to improving the health of the communities and the society.

Advertising & Public Relations

Introduction

Established in March, 2007, the department offers courses in which students learn about the fast-changing advertising culture and environment. Through the required courses, the students participate in real advertising areas and develop their professional skills required in the industry.

Educational Objective

Through these practical approaches introduced above, the department strives to train the leaders of the advertising industry. It is to train the leaders who know the difference and similarity between "advertising" and "public relations", and cater to the advertising needs and trends of society.
